Introductory Kayak Skills for the public, 12 and older

June 1 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This introductory paddling course is for those who have never paddled or are somewhat new to paddling and want to learn how to safely get in and out of a kayak from shore or dock, basic strokes such as forward, back, sweep (turn) and stop, and want to know what to do if you are nervous about being on water or if you (ever) end up in the water! This clinic is particularly suitable for those who think they are not young enough, old enough, in shape enough, or brave enough to try paddlesports.
MRWTA will supply all of the equipment, certified instructors and access to the calm backwaters of the Mississippi River in Ellis Bay. All you need to bring is a water bottle, some snacks and an interest in learning a new hobby!
$25/person, scholarships available.
