Paddling Skills Clinic 2026- Open to the Public, 12 yo and up!

The Mississippi River Water Trail Association is hosting our 3rd Annual Intro to Paddling Skills Clinic in the calm backwaters of Ellis Bay within the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Saturday, June 6th from 8am-12noon.
THIS EVENT WILL OCCUR RAIN OR SHINE, BUT WE WILL NOT PADDLE IN DANGEROUS CONDITIONS SUCH AS HIGH WINDS, LIGHTENING, OR TORNADO WARNINGS. AN EMAIL WILL BE SENT BY 7AM THE DAY OF THE EVENT IN THE EVENT OF CANCELATION.
Learn basic strokes, maneuvers, rescue techniques and of course, how to safely enter and exit a kayak.
This clinic is suitable for all levels including people completely new to padding as well as experienced kayakers who want to practice deep water rescues. We have use of a universally accessible kayak ramp should your knees or hips cause concern for getting into a vessel.
We have a limited number of kayaks to borrow.
